Google-owned YouTube on Monday turned out YouTube Charts now ready for Indian users that will showcase country-specific trending music files, top songs, professionals and music videos at one place.
Now open in 56 countries besides the global chart, “YouTube Charts” has more than 2-billion global users and 265 million regularly users in India.
“We’ve heard clear loud from Indian artists, labels and fans that they need a particular source of truth to see what’s hot and popular in the world of music. I’m very excited to bring YouTube charts to India,” Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube, stated in a statement.
Over the last year, many Indian professionals including Guru Randhawa, Arijit Singh, Badshah, and Neha Kakkar have joined the YouTube music country charts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada along with the global map.
“Indian artists have gone global. Week to week in 2019, on an average 20%of the entries on the ‘Global Top Songs’ chart has highlighted Indian artists. Their popularity outside India is a declaration of YouTube’s massive-global reach and possibilities it offers to artists,”
