Pro Kabaddi: Telugu Titans Beat Gujarat Fortunegiants

Telugu Titans notched up their first success of Pro-Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 7 as they Telugu Titans Beat Gujarat Fortunegiants 30–24 at the EKA Arena here on Sun.

Titans were accompanied by a commanding Vishal Bhardwaj High 5 while Siddharth Desai picked up seven raid points. However, it was the 16 tackle points play by the Titans stand that ultimately guided them to their 1s victory.

Sidharth and Suraj — started with massive raids to get Titans off to a good start. Amit Kumar then moved up as the third raider to send Fortunegiants’ primary raider Sachin to the board.

The visitors managed to overcome Fortunegiants to 2-men in the first 7-minutes, and 2-raids later visited their 1st All-Out of this season to take a 9-4 lead.

Fortunegiants got their 1st-tackle point of the night towards the end of the 1st-quarter by Parvesh Bhainswal. But Titans took down Sachin and G.B. More in immediate succession to hold on to their advantage.

Desai then put in 3-successful raids in a row as Fortunegiants responded by taking Amit Kumar, before More scored the final point of the half with a touch on C. Arun, as the teams moved into the separation with Titans reaching 17-13 lead.

More was given to the bench by Vishal early in the subsequent period. However, it did not take Fortunegiants long to open their account through a successful Rohit Gulia raid.

Champions Bhainswal and Vishal then took control of the match and made up their High 5s in quick succession as the game stayed close.

Titans captain Abozar Mohajermighani then moved up at a vital time for his team, first giving end Fortunegiants’ most successful raider of the season Gulia and then getting down More to swell the visitors’ lead to 6-points.

Bhainswal, though, stood firm for Fortunegiants and pulled up Suraj twice in Do-or-Die raids to have the score variance in check. Armaan then came in with just over a time left in the match and was tackled down. But Ankit, who had moved out of bounds, was involved in the tackle, providing the point to Titans.

The 6-point gap continued till the end of the match as Titans went on to claim their first PKL victory over Fortunegiants with a 30-24 decision. Finally, Telugu Titans Beat Gujarat Fortunegiants.
