Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi will be sent back to India after he consumes his interests in the Caribbean islands,
the prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne has told.
“We are a country of rules, the thing is before the court,” Gaston Browne said state-run Newsage News.
Exclaiming Choksi, a criminal, Browne said, “He (Choksi) has many applications, and till he exhausts his claims, there is nothing we can do.”
Browne also stated that Indian leaders are free to examine him. “He makes no value to Antigua Barbuda,” he added.
Mehul Choksi, a key involved in Rs 13,500 crore PNB scam case along with his nephew, Nirav Modi,
became a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda earlier this year under a programme in which a specific quantum of investment entitles an individual to citizenship.
