Mahendra Singh Dhoni to turn commentator: Former India captain M.S. Dhoni, who has out of action ever since this year’s World Cup campaign came to an end, in a surprising twist of events,
could be seen donning the surprising role of a “guest” commentator for India’s Day-Night Test upon Bangladesh that will get a place in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
According to a report by IANS, matchstick broadcasters Star is planning to rope in Dhoni for India’s important first D/N Test. The plan offered by Star to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also consists of a method for former captains of the Indian team. They will also be said to share their personal moments from India’s Test history.
As per IANS, the program reads, “Invite India Test captains for Day 1 and 2 of the Test. All captains ground (Virat) Kohli rest of the team, as great as the dignitaries, line up for the anthem. Captains appear on analysis as guests through the day to recollect their favourite moments from India’s Test history. Down memory lane segments recorded with individual captains are played on the big screen at the ground in breaks Day 4 onwards.”
Mahendra Singh Dhoni to turn commentator The plan further states that on the 3rd day of the Test, India’s win over Australia in 2001 at Eden Gardens will celebrate, “V.V.S. Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid re-live the Test match (2001). Segments displayed on the big screen.”
The broadcasters are also planning live telecast Indian teams practise pink ball on the eve Test. They are also planning free entry for the audience to watch Team India practice.
If the plan becomes a reality, then it will be the first time that Captain Cool MS Dhoni will do the role of a commentator.
