The Income Tax dept attacks at former Karnataka assistant chief minister and senior Congress leader G Parameshwara’s house and a medical college owned by him.
Taxmen also took out raids at a medical college and hospital in Kolar held by former Union minister R L Jalapa.
“If attacks are carried on the cultural institutions, I have no problem. Let them see at all the documents,” Parameshwara told.
I-T department experts told the raids we carried around 30 premises connected to Parameshwara. The income tax department has found changes in medical college run by a trust linked to Parameshwara, news agency ANI reported.
Income Tax dept attacks Former Karnataka CM and leader of action Siddaramaiah said the attacks were “politically motivated”.
“The series of IT raids on @DrParameshwara, RL Jalappa & others, are politically driven with malafide intention. They are only targeting @INCKarnataka leaders as they have left to face us on policy & pollution issues. We won’t budge to any such tactics!!” Siddaramaiah tweeted.
The income tax raids are likely to be supported by the opposition to target the BS Yediyurappa government during the three-day winter session of the Karnataka meeting that begins Thursday.
