heavy rain in Pune, At least seven people have died in rain-related struggles in Pune after very torrential flood lashed the city since late Wednesday night. The rainfall ended in the early morning hours on Thursday.

Pune district collector Naval Kishore Ram ordered school closing in Pune and neighbouring talukas of Purandar, Bhor, Baramati and Haveli.

Rescue teams reached the bodies from three different areas of the city. Five bodies recovered from Parvati- Aranyeshwar area, one body found inside a car found floating in floodwater on Singhnad Road and different was found in a waterway in Sahakarnagar.

According to fire force officials, five people fell when a compound wall collapsed in Tangewali colony. Water flowing from a nearby canal caused the surface to fall. At least 3-4 people are still missing in the conflict.

Two of the five people who died in the wall collapse incident known as Rohit Bharat Ample, 13, and Santosh Kadam, 55. The three other victims include two women and a 9-year-old boy.

The body inside the car found by one of the three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The man is known as Dattatray Girme, 52, who was in a black Honda I-Vtec car.

The fire brigade officials found a female body in an overflowing canal near Mahadji Shinde high school in Sahakarnagar area of Pune. Her name could not be quickly ascertained.

At least three more incidents of wall collapse reported since the late hours of Wednesday night, from Camp, Kothrud and Katraj areas.
